Balnea Spa

All I can say is, WOW!! Balnea Spa in Bromont, Quebec beats Spa Givenchy and all the other ones I've been to so far. Ultra sleek, ultra modern, and way, way affordable. Scandinavian design seems to prevail in this 3 week-old aquamarine-themed spa. The healthy resto menu is rather tasty and plentiful (thankfully, 3 pieces of leaves is not the main meal). The perk to this spa is the unlimited access and required participation in "l'expérience thermique". One must subject themselves to hot & cold temperatures in 10-15 minute intervals for at least 1 hour prior to any treatment offered. Various activities are available from the hot and bothered Turkish bath, to the outdoor icy waterfall overlooking the magnificent views of the Appalachian mountains. I would have taken some lovely pictures, but the mister had the digital and decided to forfeit the whole spa experience. Too bad...'cause it totally rocked!!!

Go to my Links section to get a brief idea of what I saw. Gotta take advantage of the nice pricelist now. Pretty soon, the people with the bling-bling will infest the place and the value will surely skyrocket. If I were a famous person, I'd go here just to enjoy my solitude and obscurity, away from the annoying paparazzi...

Honeymoon in Bromont

Well, it's not so much of a honeymoon. More like a weekend excursion from our usual daily lives. We're staying at Casa Bromont B&B in Bromont, Quebec. The fall leaves have now turned to beautiful shades of crimson and gold and are falling from the trees with such slowed grace and beauty. Yada, yada, yada. It's cool. You gotta see it to notice it.
I have my digital camera, but have been rather lazy to use it. My sloth-like behaviour probably stems from the lack of sleep I've been having these last few days. Guess I'm still trying to adjust to the shift change from working nights to days. I'll be back to nights on Monday & Tuesday; then day shifts, teaching for the college Thursday & Friday and later that day back to work at the hospital to do a night shift stretch for the rest of the weekend. I'm nuts, but I don't have any intention of doing this that often.
Back to Bromont, the B&B is lovely and large. Low season, so barely anyone here. Sweet. No sharing of bathrooms. Cold sunny day. Snow is still on the ground, but not much left. I can wait. I'm still living in summer mode. We're hoping to spend the day at the spa getting massages at this new place nearby, called Balnea Spa. Can't wait. He needs it the most, the poor fella. He's so tightly wound.

Life or Something Like It

Life... or something like it. This is what I intend to comment about. Anything that affects me or peaks my interest. Visual stimulation is usually a bonus, so hopefully this blog will be peppered with it. Just be patient. I'm new at this.
