The Start of Christmas Shopping Mayhem

Just got back from spending the weekend in Ottawa with my in-laws. IT was really nice. Sunday brunch was spent at the Wakefield Inn, which was very nice, by the way. Brunch was very similar to Auberge des Gallants in Rigaud, but no surprise seeing that they all belong to a federation of country inns in Quebec. Very high end frou frou stuff but delish nevertheless. We returned to Ottawa to do some lovely Christmas shopping. Toy R Us was mayhem. Ahh, Christmas shopping. Speaking of which, everyone's bugging me for my wish list.... I've always found it strange to be making one. Gift-giving should be done out of free will and creativity. But then again, what would I do with a hot plate holders made out of old Players Cigarettes cartons?

Feeling in Limbo

It's been a busy day. Still disoriented with the time change - I mean working from night shifts then suddenly to days. Did not sleep much. I had to re-program my body to wake up at 5 AM instead of fall asleep. Today, I didn't rise from my slumber to work for the hospital. This day was reserved to teach for the college. It's been a few months since I worked for them so naturally I was bit nervous. Oddly enough, I was assigned to teach at the hospital next to where I work. So I spent part of the day at my workplace for coffee breaks and the other teaching 2nd year nursing students next door. I actually felt lost...in limbo, like as though I didn't know where I belonged. Who was I working for? , I thought. By day's end, the teaching session turned out okay. Just tiring, especially when you have 7 students all vying for your attention to check their medications or charting. Well, one more day to teach and then it's back to 12-hour night shifts at the hospital for the weekend. Lovely!
I only wish I could just skip the work and spend another day at Balnea Spa...I think a hot & cold splash would do me good right about now. My body's still feeling sore from that flu shot I got yesterday morning.
